I had no lag today. A friend of mine who lives 4 miles away (St. Louis) had severe lag, which he completely solved by switching to the Euro servers. We lost one of the better HA teams by switching to Euro servers, too.
Arg, it gets harder and harder to play on American servers.

I live in texas too and when I tracert the ip I am connecting to in GW it times out in LA, but of course its that data center in Germany that is affecting us according to Anet...
Some amount of information apart from "send us a support ticket" would be nice as the game is unplayable.

So what you mean is you have no information... or what you do have your not going to share. Considering its managed to resolve itself now i'm quite sure someone there knows somet.

So I reported my -diag reports via the support link (totally user unfriendly btw) and this is the response I got:
"Additionally, usually connection issues such as this are caused by the way your network is set up. If you use a router to share a single Internet connection, try disconnecting the device and connecting your PC directly to your modem."
Clearly the problem isn't my local connection (you can see this in the -diag pathping traces), and if Anet is collecting information on this, why would I get this inane response...
Gaile, you might want to have a talk with your support staff, because something tells me this information isn't being passed up the chain if we get boilerplate support responses when we submit our tickets.

Antitorgo: I think the guys are so busy, they don't have time to write personalized responses, but I've seen the emails and I do know the reports are being read and are helpful.
I have heard intermittent concerns about the US servers and yes, you can bet I've passed those along. Feel free to submit a ticket on this, too!

And although I commend you for trying to make playing enjoyable with the special weekends I wonder if you are really equipped to handle the overload, when even on regular days you seem to be over extended. I love guild wars, I have 3 accounts, I don't use bots, I am probably not your target audience as I am a woman over 50, but I would be willing to support my accounts more if it would mean you could update servers to handle overload. If that means I need to buy 3 slots on 3 accounts to get the mission bonus I will. I will buy 3 GWENs if you have collectors editions I will get those. I would be extremely interested in what really caused lag. So please fix the lag everywhere not just in Germany.

Sparks, please understand, this is not a matter of our servers. Believe me, we have plenty, and they're working great. It seems to be related to the router, and as you can imagine, there's only one of those so when it gets bad, the situation turns nasty. I don't know that for sure, but I do know for sure we have tons of servers, double-fail-safe and all, and it's not a lack of spending money to upgrade, I promise!

After a period of much-improved latency, some players—primarily in Europe—are experiencing a return of last week's latency problems. We are reviewing posts on fan forum and the Guild Wars Wiki and relaying them to the Network Teams. The Network Teams have asked players who are experiencing latency to send a –diag report or a tracert via a Support ticket. These reports will furnish the team with extremely helpful data that team members can use as they investigate the cause of the problem and find a lasting solution.
Correcting this situation and restoring your ability to play in a lag-free environment continues to be our highest priority, and we thank you for your patience as we continue to work towards a resolution.

Okay I can say last night the lagg was not near as bad as what it was last weekend or during the week however...... I run a small community guild of players and I have members from the State of Washington to Canada. I have two members in particular one in Texas and the other who resides in Canada who have stopped playing due to the severe lagg.
I realize that you are just the messenger Gaile but I would like to share something with you. My first online game was Diablo II a Blizzard game. That particular game eventually got to the point of where Bots and cheats ruined it and the servers were always laggy or you were disconnected on a daily basis. It is also one of the reasons that I will never buy any BLIZZARD product ( WoW in particular ) and no longer play their games. They let Bots clog the servers and their support for their games is aweful. There are a ton of games out there for players to chose from and your average player will only sit and stand for so much Lagg, cheat issues and lack of support from the companies that make the games. Give a player the usual " We are working on it please be patient and nothing gets fixed " will lose you fans and customers. I think this should be something you should mention to those in the front office. Anet provides a service to it's fans and players and right now that service is lacking.
Of all the online games I have played though GW has been my favorite and with the hours I have logged on my acct you could say it is more like a hobby. Please keep us posted here and on the official site of what happened to cause the issues and what is being done to fix them. The support this game has been shown, the events, ect. has been exceptional up to now please don't let the Lagg issue continue to be a problem and it surely isn't something only effecting Europe.

Lag has returned for me again. I'm 100% sure it's GW only and not my internet connection.
I'm on the very edge of quiting ~

It seems, it is something that mainly occurs during (my = GMT+2) evening hours. Between 7 and 9 PM it starts, don't know when it ends. On afternoons, especially today, I could play fine, no ping issues whatsoever, or at least nothing serious. On evenings (when usually more people from my guild gather to do stuff), nothing works, average pings in the four to seven thousands.
I'll see that I get that checked again, and then I guess I should send it to support, shouldn't I? Report on when it occurs and when not?

*sigh* As of about an hour ago, Network let us know that there appear to be a number of players who are experiencing lag again. They are gathering reports and support tickets to try to track why this may be happening, for the maintenance early this morning in Germany was felt to be a real step forward.
Hopefully this is just a small glitch, but we're tracking and if you have new reports to share, please feel free to do so.

Yeah, one step forward, two steps back. Would be nice to be actually able to play again, but i can't even use the guild chat properly with 17k average ping.

Well i have finally been reading the forums about this.
Just one question Gaile that i would really like an answer on, after the lag finally has been resolved will there be some sort of reward for people experiencing lag for almost 3 weeks.
I really like GW and played for 2689 hours and 21 minutes (just a couple hours less i guess if you remove afk time) in 9 months.
And those last 3 weeks in a row, really started to kill the fun i had playing.
I have lots of friends who play in european districts where i have the lag, so they come to international where i dont have lag and they start lagging overthere. (so no way of playing together)
Greetings,
The Emunator
P.S. I really hope this lag will be solved soon because GW is one of the best rpg's i played, keep up the good work.
